I was not a very skilled, or talented rider--just someone who knew of the danger and really didn't want to die . Anyway, I have no bike currently. Just a FWD "economy" sedan. And it was an encounter from this morning in that sedan I'll share with you now. It all started as I exited onto 610 south from 290 when a blue CBR600 jets onto the loop from an on-ramp. Being responsible , I did the most appropriate thing which was to downshift to 5th and catch up to Speed Racer. 130 on the straight is no problem for this dude, but after just a few seconds of us 'racing' down straight the rider is forced to slow to 80 to negotiate the 'curve' where 610 passes I-10, and not because of traffic!! At this point I began tailgating 1.5 bike length away; it's OK though, I left foot brake! In the end, the rider was too much of an idiot to even TRY to get away from my car. My justification for all this reckless behavior is the initial speed, which was clearly excessive. I figure if you get on the freeway to do that, you sure as better be able to deal with the consequences--they might include an aggressive idiot like me joining your hooliganism.

If we're really lucky, the rider will be on here to comment.

What was the point in that, that you can drive a cage at that speed and then tailgate a Novice? You suck, and and probably ugly also!!!

Is your really so small that you feel the need to assert your manliness in reaction to a non exustent challenge in such a ridiculous manner?

The motorcyclist was not challenging you, he was likely having fun (albeit in a unsafe fashion) but the fact you took that as a challenge speaks volumes about you and your all around pussiness.

If your such a "badass" let me know when and what track. I will bring any one of my vehicles car or bike your choice, and show you how it's done.

I really hate to add to the post count of this useless thread, when the person that spent time out of their day to tell us the story of no importance whatsoever. However, there are a few things that caught my attention, and beg answers.

What economy front wheel drive car goes 130mph, or can accelerate up to that speed from highway speed, in a little over a mile?

At what point to you think the rider knew that you had initiated a 'race' against him/her?

You didn't mention if the rider took an exit onto I-10 from 610, so i have to assume that you both continued traveling south on 610. That being assumed, do you truly feel that the rider slowed by 50 mph to assure he would be able to safely maneuver through the slight bend in the road?

When you then decided to tailgate the rider, what was the driving motivation in doing so?

Do you feel that either you, or the rider learned anything from this experience you took the time to share with us today?

Please reply, I am genuinely curious.
