What is this part? Please help!!!

Hey guys I bought a zx14 been working on it for a while. I toke my fairings and tank off and sent to paint and noticed this weird box hook up to my transmission. Idk what it is but it was a red box in it with switched going from 1-6 I'm guess it has something to do with transmission gears or so? Any help will be appreciated.

I have pics but no way to post em right now!!

If u would like I can text them to you. To help y'all better verify.
