no thanks. having had a busa, as do some of the guys that have commented in this thread, your mod is no bueno. it will be interesting to see how it turns out because in the end, the only person that has to like it is you, but I think you aren't going to like what it does to ride-ability. a bone stock busa already had traction issues and whoolie issues. shorten up that wheel base and those issues are going to magnify to the point of dangerous.

not to mention I think it will look like dog doo. here is my ol'

p.s. yes, I have tracked her. worked just fine.

Is a busa really that much faster than a 1k?

I am sure it is harder for it to wheelie when you rev it out and I think that is the way you ride fast. Ring the out of what ever you are on, if you are not then you must not be doing it right.

*when* I got traction, mine would lift the front in first and second, occasionally third If conditions was right. I can't see much benefit to have to lay off the throttle in exchange for a moderate increase in corner flickability. Not when you can put a spacer and just lift the rear a bit to gain the same corner clearance.

Excatly its all about preference. Im doing this cause I was dragging hard parts and parts of my fairings in turns this is my reason I never had traction issues or wheelie issues on my bike you can say I don't ride it like im suppose to but my track pics say other wise lol its all about trying new things and experimenting also I can always go back to stock if I don't like it. Well shall see how it turns out hate it or like it Im going to have fun regardless at the track

I think only difference is top on but that's my guess... yep very true I try and ride the out of it but its all about fun for me at the track I hardly ride street but im.no professional I or racer I just have fun

The swingarm swap shortened it close to 3 inches also the shock and wishbones raised it 1 inches with no spacer. It will be interesting on how it reacts at a TD with these mods call it insan, crazy or flat out dangerous I call it having some good ole fun w/ my bike!!

Wouldn't a shorter swingarm lower the bike a bit? Are you sure you're gonna gain an inch of clearance?

ok this is i bolted everything up and yeah its a NO go for now. The busa forum said that you had a grind some of the swingarm to make it work UMMMM no thank you im not risking the integrity of the swingarm are you crazy!!! So i started trouble shooting and swapping parts.

What i finished at was the stock busa swingarm, 02 600 knuckle, busa wish bones & 02 gsxr 1k shock a total of 1 1/4 Inches taller but i have lower links set to the tallest setting i just ordered the stock ones & pics wil be posted soon

Props on the shortening, and going against the "stretch" grain. In the end, it only matters if you like it or not. Hope you like it.

Around here....well if you consider the 3 Twisted Sisters, NW of San Antonio "around here" then you've found your place.

I did.. but sometimes when you run into an issue, you find a better way to do it later, while still accomplishing some of the originsl goal.

He might not be at a total stopping point. Just dealing with current setback, until something else comes along.

Check your front forks for top out springs. If so, you can shorten them and make the forks a bit longer, and gain some more clearance.

You should check out the mods the OKLAHOMA HIGHWAY PATROL HAYABUSA owners made. They ride the street and track.
