I have one of those cruise control inside the bar end, twist on, twist off. Works great, but hard to adjust it when you first install it.

My quick cheat on most bikes is to take all the slack out of the return cable to the point it is slightly binding. On a long road trip it saves fatigue. And you can still modulate up and down.
