Know a Dealer?

I'm looking to buy a new Chevy or GMC truck and was hoping to get some dealer reccomendations. I'm paying cash, so financing is not a condition, what I really want are opinions on dealers that offer good service, selection and those that cut good deals to cash buyers.

Thanks for any help.

here's a tip....don't say you're gonna pay for it with cash....see what the best deal they can give you (drive out)....then talk to another salesperson and get the best deal with cash. you will probably get two different numbers. and paying for a brand new vehicle in all cash is not a good thing to do....a lot of paperwork involved if you can't prove you made all that money and saved it up. what i would suggest you to do is, buy it with an auto loan....and make large payments (e.g. $7,000 or so a month). that way you only pay a few bucks in interest, you get your truck, and you've up'd your credit score.

as for which stealership to go to.....they're almost all the same. vultures.

Well, I'm not exactly throwing down a fistfull of bills, I'm writing a check for the truck (after having secured a loan from an outisde lender).

I'm ok at haggling over price, I just don't want to take a shot in the dark on finding a dealer - there are so many GM dealers in Harris Co. -

I test drove a couple of vehicles at Bill Heard, but the salespeople didn't really make a great impression on me.

Landmark Chevrolet.

Bought two SUV's there for great price. I like to haggle also and spent about 6 hours there each time haggling. Ask for Aktar Gill and tell him Arturo with the new Trailblazer and Equinox sent you.

they sell in volume so they can afford to go a little lower, if you haggle.

your best bet is to do some calling around first. Talk to a few different dealerships and be in contact with a salemen over there. Go to the one that would give you the best deal over the phone... although most will just tell you to come in. Whn you get there tell them you are an internet buyer and understand what you want to pay for this vehicle. If they won't work with you tell the guy to hold on and call one of the salesmen at another dealership. Tell him what deal they are offering and if he wants to beat it. Do it a few times if you have too. Also, dealerships outside of town will probably be your best bet on gettign a good deal.
