There is not a vehicle out there that is worth dieing over to race. I ride because i enjoy the experience and the alone time. Not because I have something to prove.

but I mean, why the would you race a old granny car when you know your gonna win, just dont even do it and save yourself from getting involved in something that will kill you or change your life.

When I was 17 I never understood why people had to prove things, and I still dont. I just dont get it. I dont even worry about it anymore.

no one HERE knows the whole story. Fact still remains that a 17yr old was on a 115hp bike. There is no way he had the proper experience to handle that bike. When my kids get older they are free to get a motorcycle. A long as they are under 18 and under my responsibility no way on a rr bike.

It is sad that a kid didn't have a real shot at a full life. Bikes can be replaced, people can't.

Poor kid. I hate seeing these kids going racing when everyone around them knows they are not capable of taking control of a dangerous situation. That was quite a hard price he had to pay.

RIP kid.

Ok, so If i were to buy a 600 at my age, I would be considered a dumbass? I'm 16, Ive been riding since i could walk. Ive put over 3,000 miles on my dads r1, plus the 15, on the 250. Age doesnt mean a thing when it comes to what bike you got, Its how long youve been on one.

Sure not everyne on a bike my age has had as much experience as i have, but dont jump to conclusions about us "kids"

ps. he wasnt on that fast of a bike to begin with...It was just a honda! just kidding

There is always an exception to the rule. The average kid doesn't have the saddle time you do. That being said street riding is on the other side of the world of motorcycling. Not the same thing. Like it or not your still 16 and not had lifes expeiences and humbling. no one said the kid was a dumbass. His parents were. Now they are paying for it hard. I don't have to jump to conclusions about age. I don't speak of it like I was never there. it is not like a race issue where the other side never has the opportunity to see what it is like. I've been there. We all have. 99% of kids out there have a invincible attitude. If your the 1% that doesn't then kudos to you. I suffered from it when I was your age as well. Then 2 weeks in hermann hospital proved me wrong. Don't take offense, nothing was aimed at you. You should not have gotten your feathers ruffled.

When I say kids.... I didn't mean every single teenager..
Do you haul through a neigborhood? Do you try to race on busy streets? Or the freeway.
A lot of guys do in high school and out of high school, and some of them end up wrecking. You're lucky that you have the experience you do.

I know sure for that we arent invincible.. It was especially proven to me on Dec. 13th, 2006.:BangHead:

I didnt take it that it was pointed towards me, but more of speaking about us "kids" in general. There are a few of us that have been on 2 more than most people have in their 20's.

I just hate hearing "He shouldnt of been on that large of a bike at such a young age" or other varios remarks about us youngins on bikes that the older crowd rides.:eh:

Might as well get used to the remarks. the truth isn't always a pleasant thing to face. Besides, on day you will be in your thirties with kids and you will be sayin the same thing. I would say the same thing about a newb buying an over powered bike for their experience level even if they were 50. inexperience knows no age limit.
