Anyone Track a Duc Monster?

I'm thinking of turning my 1100s into a full track bike. I don't ride in the street at all anymore really and I've been itching to get back to the track, but I don't want to track my street bike. So why not just turn my street bike into a track bike?

How did you like it? Does the S4R have Ohlins forks?

is it trackable, SURE, is it a great trackbike? there are better.

chances are its limits are higher then your riding ability. esp. since it has the ohlins bits.

Well I used to track my R6 for a couple of years, and did some endurance races.

Obviously there are better bikes, but the M1100s is what is in my garage... so instead of spend anymore money, I'd rather track my paid off bike.

Anything in particular you did NOT like about the S4R on the track?

personally its a great track bike, I'm no track racer hero, so I don't outride its limits. I have a ton of fun on it. Its the different feeling I like that I don't get from my superbikes. Great bike for GSS

Thanks for the input.

One thing I noticed on my monster is that the rear shock is super stiff and even though it's let out almost to the max, I feel like it's still too stiff for me. When just taking sweepers on the road at a decent speed the bike wobbles a lot and feels unstable. Tire pressure it fine, I can't think of anything else.

Yeah I'm no hero either, I don't even know how to maintain bikes I just ride the out of them

Yes, I've had it down twice, by different shops.

I probably need to look into a different spring.

Thanks again

Hey, go for it! Making it out to a TD with any bike is better than having a dedicated track bunny and not been able to go.

I wish I could go out there more often than I've been able to. I'm starting to think keeping a track bike around is a nicety I don't really need. I'm seriously thinking about selling my gixxer and just track my street ride if and when I do go out to TD.

I hear ya, i had a dedicated track bike, and rode it for 13 track days, but then I was like, why not take the bikes that were actually made for track. Its more risk, but that's why you buy insurance. Dumped the track bike, now I just use the street machines, since I only do a few track days now

I wouldn't hesitate. That's a great platform to go out and have some fun with.
