I think Mike Wheeler (LDH) owns RC51.org. You have to pay to be a member there but he has it open to new members right now I think. They list the free and other popular mods there as well. I don't think you have to be a member to access the mods page.

besides the fact that its a torture rack, these things are fun as . As you can see they are tough as nails as well. My brother in laws would eat fork seals for some reason though. Never figured it out before he got rid of it.

I think it's different spacers in the back and have to change the wheel bearings for the smaller front axle in the front.

Negative, Mike is LDH. IIRC Mike has done some work or testing for Dan Kyle though.

Yeah I think he's still on the CBR. He's very quick to tell you what a slow, outdated pig the RC is too LOL. I still love mine though.

You can't PC over chrome, but any chrome shop can strip them back to raw alum for a minor charge.

I had mine done a couple years ago by Precision Powdercoating up in Spring; they handled it all... getting the chrome stripped and then PC.

painting on chrome?

Haven't had any luck getting rid of the chrome wheels so I've decided I'm going to paint them myself, can't stand keeping the chrome wheels on there and will need to order tires soon. The powdercoaters around here were wary of powdering over chrome, and after a suggestion of a forum member I did a little research on painting over chrome. Overall it is widely accepted as long at you do good prep work. I'm all about good prep work after painting my Aprilia so I'll be saving a bit of powdercating money and paint the wheels black myself.

Anyone have experience with Duplicolor wheel paint or true automotive paint? Deciding which route I'm going to go and any opinions on either would be helpful![/QUOTE]

I don't know what you have been told about painting over chrome, but 8 out of 10 times it wont hold up for t, as for prep go ahead and try to sand the chrome sufficient enough for primer/sealer and paint you will probobly give up 30 minutes in. if you do finish my hats off to you. anyway if you get that far DO NOT USE DUPLICOLOR it will scratch right off of stitch. Use auto grade materials I like P.P.G. products but there other choices. after its sanded/scuffed I would use DP primer/sealer (its an epoxy primer) for better adhesion-follow instructions to A T. then top coat with a urethane single stage paint, or you can use a base coat/clear coat they will look great! but try not to chip or scratch the wheels because they could start to peel, For all that work I would recommend sending the wheels out and having the chrome removed chemically, then prepping and painting them. by the way I know you don't know me but i've been the Biz. for A few years (30) boy that dated me anyway I hope I helped without being to negative. And if you have any ?s for me be patiant i'm A 2 finger typer.

Good Luck with your build. I have had mine now for 4 years, wanted one ever since I got to try my friends. be careful on the plastics though. I have used a couple of those guys on different projects and have found 1 guy that is here in the U.S.A. that has some pretty decent stuff. here are a couple of links you might want to check out.

It sure isn't for everyone and thanks for refraining That's the problem with customs, purists will shy away from something that wasn't intended by the manufacturer.

Good luck with the build Chix and Bang, always loved the RC! Subscribed just like the SV build!
