I HOPE it was a killer deal....must have been considering you even paid to have it shipped. Care to share the initial investment?

Bought the bike for a little over $2k with a clear title. On average they're going for $4k and usually need chains/sprocket and tires at that price, I've seen them go upwards of $7k with not too many mods.

Not the deal of the century like Ian's $500 SV650, but RCs are becoming harder to find, going up in price, and for $4k we'll have a completely custom, fully outfitted bike with new gear. It has aftermarket parts, probably try and sell/trade the chrome wheels for stockers, and while the Two Bros pipe is scraped up usually you can buy replacement canisters and rebuild yourself for not too cheap.

Oh, and I'm not a he :p Wrecked bikes don't skeer us, helps that we can do all the work ourselves. With plastics for $500 it'll look 100 times better. Ebay is awesome, never buy anything from a stealership again.

Thanks for the link, but not looking for stock. Can buy new custom fairings on Ebay for $300-$500. The fit isn't 100%, but better than paying same price for old used ones or full price from Honda, yikes! The China fairings have gotten better, at least if you get from the sellers with good reputation.

Dunno if I have skewed views or not, but to me this doesn't look like a lot of work. You should have seen the wrecked BMW s1000rr I was going to buy before someone bid more than me, not in an auction setting :/. It needed frame work and the fairings were trashed.

This bike is mostly cosmetic. As long as she runs good I'm pleased with the challenge so far. My record for replacing cartridge fork seals is 30 minutes, interested to see how difficult the RC's turn out to be. Hoping I can use my existing for seal drivers.

I like the look of the front without all the bodywork. reminds me of a praying mantis, with just the headlights.

whatever you decide, im sure the end result will look great

rc's aren't rare and if the average is 4k now days, the price is still dropping. I sold mine 4 years ago for 6k

^ didn't say they were rare. Said they were getting rare-er. Go on an RC forum vs a R1 foum, a lot less members. Just aren't as many out there, and will be less with age. They were cheaper a few years ago, at least when we were looking, were around $3-$5k. Maybe it was just the economy then

I was gonna say streetfighter day hoe, but since you're coming off an sv. I guess you're. Wanting a faired bike. I dunno why but I fell in love with the naked look when I was
a child andbhave yet to do so with other types of bikes.

Though the super sport performance record is outstanding and that is what I drool over.
