Thanks for the pics

You should see if the vest maker would like to examine their crashed product to see if they can make it better

Helmet, weren't you knocked out for several hours? Have you felt the styro liner to see if there is a big endention? Curious how you it knocked if there isn't a dent

The brand is Hit-air. It attaches via a tether to the bike you have to be separated from the bike for it to activate. It deploys around the neck, chest, back, and a flap folds down to cover the tailbone. Supposedly it takes around .25 of a second to deploy. The price was $400 and I've only had it less than 2 months. If it survives undamaged it is supposed to be reusable. Just repack it and put in a new CO cartridge.
I purchased it thru safermoto.com check them out. They also sell jackets with the airbags inside. Which should be better protected against being punctured or ripped apart in a crash.

Yea I'm thinking of contacting them to do just that about the vest.
And yea I'm wondering what unseen damage has been done to the helmet. Haven't thought of taking the liner out to check it out. Guess I'll have to do it. I'm not sure how much I tumbled, maybe just the intense spinning caused my brain to go into overload.

I've heard someone say, "dress for the crash, not the ride" when I first started doing forest rides. It sounded like really good advice cause I knew I would push it to the limit and it would happen sooner or later.

I also forgot to mention that the pic of the shorts is of the backside. The triangle pad is for the tailbone.

I dunno about that dude. While it did in fact save his hide, looks to be a lot of seems failing at one time. I know there are CMRA guys with suits that have been down 5, 10+ times without multiple failures like that. $300 each time adds up...

Glad you're okay Reese, that airvest looks like it did it's job good though.

Not 300 a piece if they swap it out under warranty. When are you taking this one back in?

Ok, but that speaks to Cyclegear's customer service/warranty policy, not the quality of the suit still.

I agree, but if they keep swapping it out your still only paying the $299.00. You get what you pay for.

I don't think they will warranty this. The warranty is only for manufacturers/material defects. As long as it will take me to get the bike back together or get another one. Hopefully *star will have that one out with the electronic airbag system for sale to US customers. And I'll get a real suit.
