Those "bigger bikes" had to be either taller pedal pushers or something from Harley...

IMO! The 250 should be good for a "legal speed limit" street ride....and a little over...Not recommended for those "spirited" / "douchy fast" rides....especially! the ones that a certain douchebag leads in Cypress.

I rode many group rides with friends.on bigger bikes. What you need to remember is a real rider will never leave another rider behind. If they do they're the ultimate douche... It's.not about winning the road race trophy its about getting out being seen and enjoying the freedom of the ride.

I'll be waiting for the tldr and cool story bro replys you effing trolls :p

My first bike was a 500, then I road 600s and 1ks. Now years later, I own a 250 and love it; great power, light, corners well and cheap to own. 250s are flat out fun and makes my commute just that. A group ride is just that, a group, not a race or stunts down Westhiemer like the old days, errr like my old days.

Most group ride is moderately fast and a 250 will not be suitable to keep up. Your friends can and might wait up for you but he might not like to wait up. The group might get agitated to wait up, also. Some say that a 250 can out corner a bigger bike and it's not true in the street ride. Most street rider that are on a 250 is also a beginner and can't corner worth a dime, to be honest. It's best to find a group ride that will respect the speed and enjoy the ride like a cruiser group, IMO.

First time , I rode the forest route was with several friends.
One guy had rode the week before & he wanted to lead us out , which was cool .
We kept pace as a group , but when we got to the 3090 area , he speed up.
We were all doing good , but one of the guys in front of me went down & everyone saw it except the lead bike.
His uncle actualy had to go speed up & catch him before he even knew a rider was down.
Good thing our friend was okay & his bike too.
The guys uncle gave him a good talking to about looking back to see if all the riders are grouped together.
Motto , leave nobody behind .

Just go do the ride. If you have trouble keeping up, ride your own ride, or go home. What can it hurt?
