Exclamation 2003 Buell XB900 question

My little bro has a 2003 Buell XB900 Lightning and it only has like 720 miles on it. It just sits in the garage and the battery died so many times he got a new one. sat. died.new one .died. so hes sold his house and before he sold it the bike got new oil, gas, plugs battery. started up and ran fine. then it sat again and battery died.then we charged up battery and it would just crank over . then we left it alone for about a month and battery died again, sold his house and put the bike in storage. He wants to sell it but we need to get it up and running first. So my question is . What can i look for to get it started. He is gonna exchange the battery at the Harley shop and we will try it again. Any help.

Sounds like the battery is the only problem. Now, if you get a battery and still have problems, then start checking the charging system with it running, seeing if there is a drain while it's stopped, etc etc.

Just charge the battery first, should work fine. If it just turns over and doesn't start then you probably fouled the plugs. It's very common on these Buells that if you start them for short periods of time without letting them warm-up then you can foul the plugs, just replace with new. Also, if you don't hear the fuel pump prime when you start it up then you should check the fuse located in the box under the seat.
