Talking musings over a glass of Old Pulteney

MH,

The past six weeks for me have been chaotic: lots of travel, major personal events (graduation of oldest daughter from college, her admission into a NYC Ivy League school, 25th wedding anniversary) and work is leading up to a major offshore lease sale. So my bike riding has been cut back. The past two days I have ridden about two hours/day. I notice that a two week gap leaves me a bit rusty. Yesterday it took a while to get into my groove, but this afternoon the zone was perfecto. Man I love riding. A bad boy in a red Dodge Hemi truck wanted to race a bit on Hwy 99. I let him do his stuff, but did tweak the Ninja just a bit in second gear. Street racing is not my game. The weather is perfect too, not too hot and just a bit of cooling breeze.

My ZG windscreen came in, I will install it this coming week. I have some other items on my mind, but those will have to wait until mid-June after we bid on OCS blocks in the Gulf of Mexico. Work will consume me the next few weeks.

I have been working on fast cornering technique: getting outside of the bike, head down, looking into and past the curve, proper gearing and always rolling on through the curve. My tires show the tread wear though. Cheap tires I think.

Yeah, so the 2013 Triumph Street Triple R is on my radar. I may aim to have the first one in Houston. I think I will be ready this fall when they unload the boat from Hinckley. Hope the colors are good. They probably drink Old Pulteney in Hinckley, their bikes show lots of design thought and class. Remember: ride, then drink, always in that order, no repeats either.

Be safe out there!

cheers,
Lucydad

My Granddad drinks Old Pulteney in Scotland.... that's a heck of a jet fuel you chose! Good luck.

My grandfather was a Scottish immigrant ship builder--came to the states in 1919 to avoid starvation. They make some good jetfuel in northern Islay.
