paint removal (updated w/ pics)

I'm wanting to go with the all steel look on the sporty. What is the best way to remove the paint? Should I go with some sort of paint stripper that i smear all over the tins?

I'm not looking for something amazing to come out of it, just tired of the dull scratched up paint on there and want something different.

any tips and or advice would be greatly appreciated!

What exactly did you use it on? Alum, plastic, etc?
I'm asking b/c I need to touch up some spots on a swingarm that is like 95% stripped. Actually, not sure if it is painted though. May be factory PC...

Paint stripper. Make sure to remove the tins from the bike.
Keep in mind there may be imperfections under the paint that are filled with body putty.
Question, how do you plan on sealing the tins once they're strpped so they don't rust?

planned on spraying clear on it. If there is filler under it all I will end up having it painted. I'm so sick of that Maroon

borrowed my neighbors bike lift (heavy beast), removed all the tins and then started the long process of stripping the paint with the aircraft paint remover, talk about toxic stuff.

Took some mothers polish to it, then used rubbing alcohol to clean it up after and sprayed the dupli color clear in a spray can (don't judge me).

I thought about wet sanding the gas tank to make it all uniform but after a few drinks and debating with the gf and neighbor we thought it'd be best to leave it all raw and rough. No filler was found which I suspected since it was the stock paint.

Thanks for the kind words. We'll see how it holds up over the course of a few weeks and will know then if I will keep it this way. I have mixed emotions about the front fender, Will probably put it back on tonight

Next on the list is to get these wheels powder coated gloss black!

I finally found some time to take the ol sporty to Pruett's Designs in Conroe for some hand painting and pin striping. Here are some pics, it's not finished but you get the idea of what's going on here .
