Man today sucked....long story

sorry for the long read.....well on my routine ride home from work,i almost got splattered at the 610 south ramp from 59. traffic was flowing nicely at the on ramp and a dumbass decided they did not want to wait and cut off a car 2 cars ahead and then hit the fan.....next thing i know all the cars slammed on their brakes, the first car stopped completely, the second car blocked the shoulder aka my escape and the car behind me wasn't paying attention and not slowing down at all....so i realized this is gonna be bad either way and made a really bad decision but it saved me. i was able to brake before hitting the car in front of me, downshift to 1st , ride between my lane and left lane to a safe spot at the fork, missed getting hit by truck in the left lane by inches...scared the out of me

I know how it feels bro. Some lady decided she doesn't want to stop at a stop sign in my neighborhood. Would got hit 50ft from my house if i didn't swerve to the right and she had the nerve to beep at me like it was my fault ~_~

Orealy? That is when you find her at the next light and take a souvenir off her car to remember your good fortune.

Good save!!

I ride 45s on the way home every day, when I am on DAY SHIFT I hit the 5:00PM traffic jam from El Dorado all the way to BW8... Its a freakin jungle out there...

Kind of like the ole game "Frogger"... I embrace the challenge daily and now time myself to see how fast I can get through it..LOL

On those locations I always keep a distance of 2 - 3 cars ahead of me. I don't care if the cars behind me don't like it.

Well I know its illegal and I don't ever casually do it, I can honestly say that was the first and last time..wouldn't have done it if it was avoidable.

Great save and thanks for sharing! Claiming the space to safety is key. Often we lock into cager mode when a bike can be pointed into a clear zone. All it takes is a road shoulder, or a gap. It seems the Houston traffic is gearing up for summer--worst time of the year due to heat and other stresses.

You confirm why I want ABS on my next bike: emergency straight on stops.
