Operation: Thank You! Military Appreciation Day Information‏

Updated information received from University of Phoenix:

Greetings,

Thank you so much for being a part of and involved in University of Phoenix Houston Campusí 2012 First Annual Military Appreciation Day- Operation: Thank You! As you know, University of Phoenix Houston Campus has joined Forces with the Lone Star Veterans Association and Wounded Warrior Project to host, celebrate and honor all of our Houston community military service members and their families. The event will be held THIS SATURDAY, May 19, 2012, at Houstonís Northwest Learning Center. In this email you will find the details, event recap, event day information, parade information, and updated agenda to ensure that all participants have the knowledge needed for accurate understanding of involvement for the event.

Just to give you an overview and recap of current production; starting this past Monday, May 14, Operation: Thank You! event information has been blasted on (33) local Houston radio stations and will end the morning of May 19. In addition, we have had multiple email blasts go out from various associations and organizations in the local Houston Community. We currently have 175 RSVP and by the event day, we are hoping and expecting to reach over 200! We are expecting for 200-300 attendees including Houston community active duty service members, veterans, and their families, along with University of Phoenix students, alumni, faculty and staff! We will have food, live entertainment, activities for kids and adults of all ages, a special POW Ceremony, a special presentation and donation to the Lone Star Veterans Association, and much more! Everything at the event is at no charge to the attendees or their families, such as food beverages, etc. Also, each military service member will receive a complimentary round of golf upon check in, donated by Lake Heron Golf Course. This will be a day filled with family fun while celebrating and saluting our military heroes!

To start the event off, we will have our local HPD escort our military appreciation parade that will supported by local military service members, Military Vehicles, Motorcycle Riders, and Color Guards. We ask that all that all participants in the parade meet in the SAM HOUSTON RACE PARK PARKING LOT, at 10:15 AM. We will start the precession promptly at 10:45

Sam Houston Race Park (PARADE START LOCATION)
7575 North Sam Houston Pkwy W.
Houston, Texas 77064

University of Phoenix- Northwest Learning Center (PARADE END LOCATION)

Again, on behalf of the University of Phoenix Houston Campus, we THANK YOU for being a part of this appreciation event as we honor our Armed Forces on this special day! For more information and details on the event agenda, please visit our event site linked below.

Riders Wanted!

It's good to see the support on here from everyone that has signed up for the parade.

It would be great to get at least 20 riders in the parade, the more the better. So if you help out, please sign up!

If anyone has any military pictures they would like to post up, it would be great to see them.

We could use a few more riders; even if you can only make it out for the parade it would be greatly appreciated

I'll have Motohouston decals Saturday morning for anyone that wants one.
