Biker down, volunteers needed

A friend of mine was in a bike wreck last Friday. He was hit by cager and taken to Hermann Memorial and has been in ICU since. He's got multiple breaks in his left leg, broken ribs, broken arm and facial fracture. Possibly could lose use of his left eye. They used 9 units of blood during his surgery. They are running a blood drive on May 25 at cattleman's in Alvin between 12 and 6. Any help would be appreciated. If you can go, I'm told to let the people know you are donating for Digger O'dell.

Any way to donate at a blood bank up North and have it applied to your friend?

I wish your friend the best of luck. Was he wearing a helmet? (I only ask because of the facial fracture.

Unfortunately, being a Harley guy, it's not cool. Maybe this will change his mind. He is a hard though. He'll ride whenever, wherever, regardless of weather conditions. Regardless, he's one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet. I grew up with his wife and my sister has known Digger most of her adult life.

Would donate if I could, but I'm banned from donating blood / organs for life. :(

Good luck to your friend though.

I think they're asking for donations to help replace what he's used from the supply, not necessarily directly donated to him.

He's having a more surgery today on his shoulder and arm this time. His wife did say that he's regained some feeling and movement in his leg though which is good. He still is having issues with sight in his eye but the Dr said it could be due to the swelling in the area.
