Exclamation Motorcycle hits man walking his dog

http://www.click2houston.com/news/Mo...z/-/index.html

HOUSTON - A man is in serious condition after being hit by a motorcycle while walking his dog in northwest Houston Saturday.

Police said a man walked in front of a pick-up truck while crossing North Shepherd Drive near Millville Drive at around 11:45 p.m.

The truck was able to swerve and avoid hitting the man, but a motorcycle behind that truck was not able to stop in time.

The man was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in serious but stable condition.

His dog died at the scene.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with minor injuries

Following too close?
Didn't want to dump the bike avoiding "nothing"?
Not comfortable with an all out emergency stop on a bike?
