I broke my clavicle into 3 complete pieces with lots of little shards, had a 9" titanium rod and 11 screws put into it and I was supposed to go to rehab twice a week for two months. I never went once and was throwing a baseball less than a month later.

The collar bone isn't really a 'stressed member' in most physical activity. It never even hurt that much - at time of break, during or immediately after surgery or during the healing process.
