The reason the BMW hasn't won in wsbk is tire conservation. Those pirellis are gone in 10 laps on a BMW, the pirellis are essentially built for twins. Which is why checa sucked on a Honda but won the title on a duc.

anything above a 600SS and rider is the biggest advantage or disadvantage.....

Well everyone is using the same tires, so.... and checa seems to have his eye on the prize again this year, but no doubt the ape and the bmw will make wsbk a good season to wat h tbis year

Right, they all have spec tires, but different bikes handle those tires very differently. They need smooth power application or they fade fast. Duc, ape, crossplane R1 have been the front runners recently, a twin, a real v4, and a simulated v4. The inline bikes struggle to keep a rear under them, which is why you see the BMW's and kawi always qualify well on new tires but fall back as the race goes on. If wsbk switched to any of the other 3 major tire brands as their spec-tire supplier, the game would change completely.
