triumph tt600 engine noises

So i just bought a 2001 with 1,575 miles on it for 2k but the problem is that the guy I buy it from said that it started overheating quickly and it started to make a squeeking noise after. When he tried to turn it over when i went to go buy it it did it again so i said not to turn it on. I checked the oil level and it was low. Added oil and still made the noise. I looked it up online and the oil light meant low oil pressure. But what I'm wondering is that is the engine ruined? Cuz it sounds like a piston is rubbing dry. Will it run fine if I just change the oil pump? Or faulty relay or switch? Please help!!! I don't want to get rid of it cuz its basically a new bike and i got it for soo low of a price!!!!

not to sound rude and all.... but you bought a non running bike with possible blown motor for 2k? you should have come here first and asked if it was worth it. we'd all tell you to walk away. chances are the bearings are fried and cylinder walls are scored. if that's the case, you are going to need a rebuild or buy a used engine and do a transplant.

It's cool man. Your not being rude. But its ok I can still get my cash back! It's my bros best friend and he said if its too expensive to fix it I can give it back. But what are the chances of it being that?! :(

chances of a oil pump going bad? purdy good. chances of engine damage due to it being run w/o oil pressure? purdy good.

did the guy change the oil/filter regularly?

would never hurt to take it to a shop. patrick would prolly check it out for little to no cost. BUT... if the motor is toast, it isn't worth dumping more money into it. those bikes can be had in good working order for not much more than you spent.

Yeah he did. It barely had 1,575 miles so i think he only did one. And whos Patrick? And where's that shop at? Yeah if its toast I don't wanna throw more cash it to run. I just don't have the money or time
