Super Moon Ride 5-5-2012

Thinking of going somewhere tomorrow 05-05-2012- to get some shots of the "super moon". http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2012/...come-saturday/
Supposedly the best time to see this is at 10:45PM. Any suggestions on where would be the best place to get someshots?
I think it would be a neat shot to have the moon in the background and a bike outlined,
Anyone want to go?

Brazos bend park. You can also go to the observatory.

I bet the Outlet mall parking lot you can see it good. That would be cool. If you can get however many bikes together and the pic with the moon in the background. We (my wife and I) may be down. Got to be up early for the noob ride on Sunday.

Current plan is to leave Katy, 6:45PM and ride downtown. There is a spot on Memorial (near the fallen officer statue) that has a good view of the skyline. The moon rises at around 8PM so that should be pretty good timing. If anyone knows of better spot let me know.

That is an awesome spot so I'll bring my tripod and get some slow exposure action. I live right by there though so I'll just head straignt there. Does the moon rise on the downtown side? from the east?

I plan on being there around 9PM. Will bring a tripod as well. Trying to learn more about my cameras capabilities. As far where the moon rises, that I am not sure of.

Someplace without ambient light is a good idea as well so after a few shots there may head back out west.

Got a few but was not overwhelmed with the results. Need more practice with this camera. All shots hand held.

Did not get the shot that I was envisioning. Moon did not cooperate.

I didn't go last night but I'll try today. I'll bring my tripod and d3100 if it fits in my bpack.

Good shot of the moon though!
