Ninja 250 lap times

Hello everyone! I've been riding for a couple of years and I've done 7 trackdays on my 250, all at MSRH. I was wondering if there are any other 250 riders out there who know what kind of lap times they're running. I want to get out of novice, but I'm not sure how fast I need to be. I'm doing around 2:20s now.

Cool another 250 owner! We need to get you out and do a 250/lightweight event!

I don't know much about times but I know 675raisinator does pretty good out there on MSRH. He's the guy on the red 250 and white cortech suit.

Yes I think he's in level 2 now, I remember being passed by him a couple of times. Guess I need to get a of a lot faster. I do want to go to gss though, but someone told me they don't have novice sessions every time.

LW does not equal novice.

Come on out, but be prepared for some close passing and an occasional stuff.

It is all in good fun, but it does get a bit "racey" at times.

At the CMRA's round 1 there earlier this year, my son ran a 2:05.475 on the long track. He was on his CBR250R.

My fastest time on my old 250 is a 2:05 at msrh (full course). I wanna say Tony t. managed a 2:00 lap at msrh. on the TWS (Texas World Speedway) full course, I pulled a 2:15. 250's are fuuun

Gss invitational Alan Phillips and Kris Lillegard ran 1:04.somethings ccw. My best was a 1:07.5 iirc. This on a rentmyninja 250. They were on a mildly prepped rental also. I think the cmra fast guys n bikes could probably run 1:03's. Thats amazing to me cause running a 1:03 on a 600 isn't easy.

Sounds like 2:05s are the top times at MSRH, I'll be happy if I can get under 2:20.. not too far off.

Thumbs up

So, it sounds like a 250 would be enough to get to Intermediate (Level 2) but prolly not enough to get into the advanced group unless you had a real GP level machine (Aprilia RS250 / Honda NSR250, etc.). I've run my CBR250 once and it was great, liked the light weight just about another 40 HP or so and it would be pretty wicked!
