Glad to hear you care enough about your vehicles to read up on the particulars. I had an '05 E-150 Chateau 5.4L. I bought it with just a tick over 100k on the clock and went on put some 20k on it over 2-3yrs I owned it. Since it's a old beater van for me, I didn't much care what I threw on it. I wouldn't doubt I might have bought Fram filters, when Autozone had package deals with it. Besides, who knows how many times Fram filters got put in that 100k miles before I got it?

That good old van ran like a champ the whole time I owned it, including a 4000 mile summer vacation trip trhough the SW. Shoot, for all I know, Fram filter was in it when I drove through Death Valley in 125deg record heat. Never once left my family stranded. i did nothing but basic maintenance.

I would buy another one in a heartbeat if my CFO would let me.
