yes transponders do work out there (MSRH) even on track days/private days you have to get ahold of stewart or get Allison in the front office to rent you one of theirs if you dont have one. its how i track my times when i'm there.

It's called an AMB and it works most every Whoopies Day at MSR-Houston. You can even get a print out of your times with your AMB Transponder number.

GPS laptimers work every day.

CMRA transponders only work when CMRA has their gear setup (although i guess whoop has the same gear)

IR transponders seem to all work interchangeably with one beacon...but someone has to set the beacon up.

MSRH has a mylaps system. Whenever Im out there on private days, I can just go to the tower and print out a time sheet my self. It is ALWAYS on. All you need is your transponder.
