Be loose on the bike believe me i was going "all out" and running 2:02's all day then one day with help i was told stop worrying about time and worry about the line and BP and in 1 day i was in the 45's. the biggest deal with the lvl 3 and advanced group/ racing i've seen is being predictable being able to trust that person in front of you is going to hold his line while you pass them in the turn lvl 2 guys are all over the place and run 1:50's but do so in a unsafe manner and when passed close they stand the bike up or push harder and run off track.

Keep up the hard work bud just need to work on the lines and being loose and i think ya can get in the high 50's

Yeah absolutely. My confidence level was trashed because I crashed early on a green track because my rear tire pressure was off. That lead to me tensing up on the bike and slowed me down. My point is I felt with the confidence to be loose, I am instantly more consistent and have better times. This last track day was the first time I ever took video so I estimated off of the video... I haven't been worried about times. In fact, I checked out the video when this thread was made

Thanks for the advice! I am changing platforms next year so there will be a couple days up front where I am relearning the platform despite knowing the line. I have to admit it is hard for me to walk away from my beloved SV platform on the track but I am trying hard to have an open mind.

Was hoping you showed up on that Pikes Peak champion party at Kpop. Half the people were from oil industry.

I need to get in the clutch lever and shift lever market... I test those two things like a champ!

Maybe I should get Sherman to sponsor me

Screw y'all on your sports, slicks and warmers. I'm doing this with 80 extra lbs, only 120hp, and Q2's. and an awkward as riding position (clip ons and rear set to come).

Give me an r6 and ill give you 1:45

I watched vid of me and Kraze Kris from our last trackday mid November. We were playing in the afternoon sessions. Kris on street tires on his R1

Before this year I ran 2:00+ on my Busa and CBR. I struggled to run 1:55's on the CBR1000RR earlier this year. Last trackday switched to a set of R10 Bridgestone takeoffs from John at SCRC and BAAAAAAAMMMMMM dropped 10 - 12 seconds off my lap time.

I saw 1:43 - 1:47 via go pro in traffic in 2 sessions. Mock race, must have been around 1:41 - 1:43. I felt fast for the first time ever on my CBR.

I need to get a lap timer.

Lemme know what you find. I saw some on ebay for like $60, but wasn't sure about reliability. I guess I'll search out a lap timer thread now...
