And if it was so, then mad props to Tim for handling it all. Job well done. He's always been a great organizer and promoter IMO.
For the past 2 years I did ALL organizing and promotions for the bbq. Chris does nothing. I do it not to promote fastline, but for my MH community. Every MH sponsor was invited. I personally called them all. Even LSTD.

There were several factors that led to a lower attendance this year. The ride for kids was the same day, as well as several order big events.

It's logical to have it at a track. Here's why:
Large facility that can handle that number of people and vehicles.
You can do pretty much what you wish, unlike at a public park, ie; loud music, loud bikes, stunting, whatever.

My insurance covers everybody in attendance.

Where else can all sponsors and member do all of this and showcase their products?

The trackday org pays for the facility and insurance, so the forum doesn't have to. I charge a gate fee to help pay for the food, the entertainment, and security that I provide for the forum members.

Say what you will, but this was my 4th year doing all promotions and organizing. It ain't cheap and it aint easy. But its done for a forum that I love. You show me a better venue to hold such an event with no restrictions and I will do it there.

thanks for the explanation Tim, I think that will make some folks feel better about how it all goes down. That was cool of you to call all the other folks and extend a personal invitation. Keep up the good work. What you do is a great asset to the MH and motorcycle community in general. CDill thanks for your input too, I know you are straight up with your concerns, I am glad that dave has full grids lined up for his trackdays too, the more successful groups we have, the more riders there are getting instruction and being exposed to something that can bring a lot of pleasure to them.

And for the record, this the 2nd year I hosted this event as fastline. In 08 & 09 I hosted it with another org. There was no bbq in 2010. None of the from mods ever had something negative to say about the venue in years past.

Some people have no idea how hard it is to put an event on like this one...thanks Tim for the effort.

Thanks John. Let's put it in perspective.....yesterday's event cost me as much as a new motorcyle. Granted I made it back, but that's a ton of money to put up with no guarantee return. There are only a few folks willing or able to take that risk.

Back on a positive note... I had a great time. This was my first MH BBQ. It was a little confusing and there was alot of stuff going on. I'm sure it will be easier to navigate through next year now that I kind of know what to expect. I think its a great thing to do FOR THE MOTORCYCLE COMMUNITY, not just a particular forum, sponsor, or track org. It's about getting riders together who share a common passion and I think that was accomplished. Great job, cant wait to do it again next year!

Longhorn hosted it in 06 & 07, TTD in 08 & 09, Fastline in 11 & 12.

It's not about which org host's it, but rather who is willing to take the risk and who is willing to put the effort in to organizing it. The event has come a long way since the 1st one at Chris's house.

don't let it bother you, get 10-12 trackdays under you belt this year and at the next BBQ you will be surprised when she says to you: "Baby, you looked kinda slow out there."

Just funning Trey!! (SV an all)
