From the OP on the thread I thought it was open for everyone that was on the site...I gotta say I was surprised but thought it was cool that all were mentioned. But then again, I don't know the whole story. Just an observation.

I'm reminded of a bbq that I went to at Bear Creek park that was H-I and two other sites including MH, the turn out was very "Meh"...I think it's good that there is an initial "pull" that already brings a crowd, in this intance a trackday...and then the rest to follow.

I think it's the lack of promotion from the usual posters, or the fact that it's grown so much a lot gets lost though cracks with new people not knowing how to navigate..I dunno, I was surprised too...but then again, a lot of even the meets have gone a bit down in attendance...

There can easily be a separate annual event as well. Someone just needs to get off their and organize it if they want it badly enough. If it's as interesting as you believe it to be then the people will show up to support it.
This, I hear critizism but not much action, I would love to help in putting something like that together in a few months, and have even before this though about haveing an MH Family day for the kids and all at a park, I and Mala spoke about hiring a balloon skulptist.

RIGHT!

There is a lot of talk and when it comes to it, even if you are given what you want, people will still wont be fully happy or make the effort to attend.

It's funny how that is...

I do see the point that Dave is trying to make and CDILL too, but MH is a vehicle of communication, you can put something together and let everyone know that is on here that they are invited.

I don't have an affiliation with anyone but do get help here and there from the different sponsors and some members. I'm not getting paid by MH to put anything together, though sometimes the admins help.

There is NOTHING stopping anyone from doing it themselves, it's funny to hear all the complaints and no action.

My .02 if it's even worth that.

It's wasn't a Fastline BBQ. There are no critiques or commentary for FL to take into consideration here. I'm sure it was a well run track day. There is another thread for Fastline feedback. I believe this is an MH BBQ feedback thread.

I have just a couple of questions worth pondering.

How do you think it makes other paying sponsors feel when MH holds an event at one particular sponsors place of business? How would Motorcycles Unlimited feel if the MH BBQ was held at 2 Wheel Toyz? Or vice versa? How would Whoopies Race School, Ridesmart, LSTD, CE Boot Camp feel if MH held a BBQ at a Fastline Track Day? Wait.. what?

Like Obed, I would be more inclined to attend a BBQ at a track day, no matter the org, however this event was sold out and the last thing I am going to do is go to a track and watch a track day and eat snow cones so I didn't go.

Anyway.. I have no dog in this fight, I don't own Ride Smart and am speaking as an individual. I'm sure Dave Wonders couldn't give 2 .. he has a sold out double day this weekend to worry about. I'm just giving another perspective.

Peace.

From what I saw, Godsuki was mostly in charge of the organization of the entire event. That's why I mentioned Fastline in my response. If he wasn't then that's my mistake.

Well, again, I don't know the full story, but if it was FL fronting most/all the money, i would imagine they get the honors...

I would attend a Ride Smart/MH BBQ day if it existed...

I am Fastline staff and would attend a Ridsmart MH bbq with pride, I am there to see my friends and watch some fast riders... So this "others would feel out of place" attitude is not exactly right....

Getting butthurt that someone offered to host an event that would otherwise not happen does nothing to make the event itself better....

Well, therein lies the problem if that was so.

And if it was so, then mad props to Tim for handling it all. Job well done. He's always been a great organizer and promoter IMO.

Congrats on being FL staff. That's awesome!

No one is hurt, that I am aware of.

I'm just giving another perspective that some may not have considered.

The last place that I would feel "out of place" at is a race track.

I agree on both points.

He was like a 4' tall whirling dervish of handling business yesterday.

Yeah I figure when I start going to 2 or 3 a month and she is all like, "Baby that is alot of money you are spending" I can be like: "Well baby, I want you to say wow you are fast next time you come out for the BBQ."

I just got my green light for track time any time

The instructor / student ratio was great. With a packed novice group, having one instructor to four students was a pleasant surprise.

Had a great time and learned a lot.

I'm glad we could help, the tire you had looked nasty!
