Because MH is a motorcycle organization it's safe to assume that any meet would involve riding somewhere. Why NOT ride to a track where other motorcycle-oriented activities are taking place? Seems watching a trackday fits with the theme of a motorcycle club better than watching kids on a jungle-gym to me.

There are lessons to be learned to make the next annual MH/MSRH BBQ event more successful. Just like any other good business, Fastline will incorporate the critiques and commentary into future planning. Just a part of doing good business.

There can easily be a separate annual event as well. Someone just needs to get off their and organize it if they want it badly enough. If it's as interesting as you believe it to be then the people will show up to support it.

well, when chris heals up from the crash doing something that he as a rider and forum owner had no interest in, I guess he can decide that...
If you forget the track, drags and stunting, you might as well forget motorcycling altogether... the reason i go to meets is not for the food, I can get that anytime... but to meet and talk with other folks of similar interests, which include all the things that you suggest forgetting... if those don't exist I have no reason to go to a MH BBQ to begin with..

You speak of going to meets to talk with other folks. That's a pretty cool story. What's wrong with doing that away from a track? I don't get what is so hard to grasp about that idea. I get you along with several others have a hard on for the sport. Let it go for a day and enjoy some time with like minded folks.

You realize that you're saying that to Obed, right? I think most of the people who would be hesitant to attend such an event are the ones that don't really feel that they have much to say to fellow members when you don't have a centralized and all consuming activity going on to interact around.

There isn't much point in arguing your stance. Just make the plans and prove it can be successful.

hey, the forum belongs to chris... he can do it anyway he wants and I will not complain one bit... but the truth be told, for me personally, if there were a BBQ on the same day as a track event.... I won't be eating any BBQ...and not sure I would go to a park with a gazzillion other folks anyway, but then again parks are not my thing...
I actually would not campaign for it either way...but if it were at a trackday event I would be more likely to go...
I do the central meets because they are just a few minutes from my house... of course that is not just an MH event... it is posted on the other forums too and some of those guys show up wearing their forum tshirts... if that meet were very far away, I would likely not go.. I have been to a few of the ones that were some distance from my house and it was just not worth it to me... but combine that with a trackday... and I am much more likely to show up...had I not been racing, I would have been at this one....
you say the attendance was down, that I was not aware of until reading it in this thread... not sure the trackday was the reason... since the one last year was a good one and it was at the track... could be other factors... I know, it is George Bush's fault.

Only downfall to the BBQ is when my girlfriend got there. She shows up I go out for a session and she watched. I felt like I did pretty ok considering I am no great rider.. first words out of her mouth when she meets me back at the paddock.

"Baby, you looked kinda slow out there."
