I had a good time out there walking around and catching up with some friends I haven't seen in a while. I spectated for a little bit. Saw that guy hit Chris. That was pretty wild, I hope he is okay.

I dunno my dad and gf had a good time watching me go round and round, while they could have a snow cone, and then hanging with everyone in the pads?

I see what you guys mean though, maybe the MH Trackday and then later in the year the MH BBQ at a park? Like Dude said, that would be pretty cool.

More reasons for everyone to get together.

Had a super bad time! It's been a few years since the MH BBQ was done and it was nice to have it back.

Mh bbq was done last year, and the attendance this time around was low compared to past events.

I think it would much more successful at a place where all sponsors could be. Sure not everyone would make it due to other things going on like track days but not everyone is a racer and wants to be around it.

I'm in support for getting together for whatever reason but when its a "mh" event and I see more hpc logos and stickers on bikes than motohouston ya have to wonder how MH is it lol. I love my hpc people too. Lots of great guys all over, I did chuckle though

And to all the people defending the event good for you I'm sure yall had a blast, track days rock. Just doesn't seem like the ideal place for the big mh event of the year.

Instead of an entry fee why not grill our own food like we I've seen in the past with other meets. Now that's what I'd call a bbq

I did not get to go because I was racing in Denton.. but the idea of the MH BBQ and all the other activities going on at the same time was very appealing to me. I have folks who have never been to a trackday or race and i was thinking that an event like this would be one that I could get them out to and see them enjoy themselves while getting a taste of what Grandpa does..
a plain trackday might be kind of boring to some folks but an event like this would have other things going on as well...
MH could have another BBQ at a park or something for the folks who are not interested in track or racing at all, but then again an event like this one, just might be the ticket to get them interested. I have some relatives who would not like go to a regular trackday... like CDill said, it down at angleton and if all there is to do is watch grandpa go round and round and they are not really interested in the round and round, after 10 to 15 minutes they are bored out of their gord and looking to leave... with something like this there are other things for them to do and they actually get to get up close to the bikes and the riders...IMO this is something that should happen at least once every year....a real shot at getting folks who do not think they would like trackdays to get the "feel" of one, might see some folks change their minds...
I can see where it might be distracting to a first time trackday rider, who has never been to one before, just a regular trackday is confusing enough, my very first trackday, no one even told me how to ride out and get on the grid and I rode in the wrong way and almost collided with guys coming off... so being confused on a first trackday is quite normal... and the PA system was not lould enough to hear, so what instructions you did get as to when to get ready could easily be missed, sometime I just looked for other riders in my group and when they went to their bikes, i went to mine.....
I would like to see every trackday group do something like this once a year.. then no one would be jealous that another trackday group was getting a leg up on the advertising...

a MH bbq should not be about anything other than hanging out with members. forget the track, forget drag racing, stunting or whatever. motorcycles food and hanging out is all we need

you guys are funny, it was at the track because we ride motorcycles.

you were suppose to ride your motorcycle down have some bbq talk and meet friends new or old watch a little round and round check out out some vendors meet some sponsors ride your bike back home and call it a day, seemed pretty straight forward to me.

In, I wasnt able to show up to this due to having a flat... but having a central park meet would be pretty cool... like march-ish when the weather is AMAZING still.

would be a nice kickoff to riding season.

so because someone is on a bike we have to ride track?

seemed straight forward to me by the lack of attendance by mh members. not a good idea to mix the two (bbq/td).

all i'm saying is i hope next year there is more thought put into the event. as a moderator and long time member i should probably do more to make something happen and will bug chris and dino to see what we can all do as a team

Last year it was pretty big, but I think it was free to get in and you only had to pay if you wanted BBQ. I was unable to lead a group down this year

I think some of the attendance issues were because there was only 2 solid rides setup to come down there. None of the usual MH Ride Leaders (Like Bevo, :get well set anything up really or they were actually riding the track that day.
