anyone with a truck???

as i shifted up yesterday coming to my mom's house...my clutch lever cable snapped does someone in my area mind taking it to a shop? or can do it themselves?? ill pay for gas and repair

You use your clutch to upshift?

yea lol but i cant start it...i read a guide on how to do it, but my brother has all my tools and whatever job he's started. it doesnt seem hard to do though. i was actually going out there to tony today lol i dont have a shop or individual in mind i just want to RIDE!!! lol

Bike came from Tony and I have a hard time believing he will leave you in a bind. If you can get parts I might can help you during tge week. Plate is pretty full this weekend.

It's an easy repair. You will just need a new cable. It will only be a nightmare if you find other stuff Wrong with your bike when you go to remove the cable.

This is really easy to do you just need to go to a salvage yard and find a cable in good condition (ebay? if you dont mind the wait) and remove the old one, and be very careful as you remove the old one because installtion is opposite of removal.

i may be able to get this taken care of, my dad may be coming in town and ill just have him take me to pick up some tools and swing me by some place with cables. after reading a few guides it shouldnt be an issue

Good lesson...anytime you by a used bike lube all the cables cables and chain yourself.
Same thing happened to me about a week after I bought mine haha.

That happened to me once. I had to float gears from Galveston to Katy. Never want to do that again !

i remember reading about this lol

thanks everyone i have a tool set now, im about to go check it out myself and see. i went by union cycles, they have a ton of cables but i need to bring mine in to make sure its the right one. ill update later tonight

Adjust the cable out and use a small screw and nut to put an end on the cable. You should then be able to drive it where ever...lol

lets just be completely legit here

i got the cable off and it was a lot easier then i though i just had to "persuade" the nuts under the casing lol, i thought i would have time to run to union cycle but i didnt. i should be able to install the new one tomorrow though i really appreciate everyone's help though

on a side note: would it be worth the money to buy a braided clutch cable?? for the street that is or would i be fine with just a simple oem one
