TOP MOTO routes in Texas

Found this website looking for new places to ride...

http://motorcycleroads.com/Routes/Texas_119.html

Thought it was cool. Some near some far, some really fun and some cruising. Anyone been on these routes and recommend any of them specifically...well besides twisted sisters and crabb river!!!

I ride all roads that are safe (twisty/turny to straight and scenic) anything to put good miles on the ole GSXR.

I have used that site and ridden some of them... Some are better than others...

Road CR 25 a couple weekends ago.. it was ok but narrow, no shoulder, bad road surface and debris since it is very rural.. Also the curves weren't super challenging.

Rode crabb river and CR 25 this past weekend and yeah 25 is very narrow and you definitely have to watch out for speeding rednecks oncoming in your lane. west columbians lol

I still need to do the twisted sisters. My buddy's family has one of those ranches near Leakey. I just need to talk him into getting a bike again but he needs no excuse to head out there. I hadn't seen that motowhere.com one before--those are some good routes and most of them are in the area

3 Sisters ROCKS super big time!! I rode that on my 954 and I can't remember a more fun set of roads.

Big Bend area is great on a street bike or a dual sport. Hwy 170 from Terlingua to Presidio makes Houston area roads seem like a flat parking lot.

Most hill country riding basing out of Kerrville or Fredricksburg or even Austin is enough to whet the appetite. Some of the smaller less used roads can be really entertaining and the abundance of water means there is a swimming hole every 50 miles if you get hot.

What I see missing is the close to Houston ride taking you on the independence loop to Burton for lunch at the Burton cafe. You can add this to the Honea Egypt >>149 >>Anderson >>Washington on the Brazos ride and make a nice 200+ mile day of it. Great for sportbikes, great for cruisers.

I think when we finally got to crabb it was about 11 or so, we rode all the way to sonic in Richmond and headed back down crabb towards home around 2:30.

I'm not big on weddings, but I'm going to one in a couple weeks in Burton and I can't wait. Somebody will be taking my suit in their car and I am changing in the bathroom

I still don't see the draw of crabb river. It's like five turns and none of them are connected. I'd rather find one turn just Uturn 4 times.
But it beats 288 or 45 for the times when I'm headed south.

I THINK I remember cr25 (does pinball "know it" pretty well?) maybe that was 21. Anyways... scenic, lots of trees... pretty ride, just not a road condition I want to go screaming down leaning in the corners.

This sounds pretty close to a route that I did with the desmotexas guys... lots of fun.

Fitzhugh Rd just west of Austin is a good twistie road with hardly any traffic on it. Also McCullogh Ranch Rd just north of Kerrville is a nice one too. I like to find the lesser traveled roads that hardly anyone goes on. There are a lot of them out there.
