How much you wanna bet a cellphone or texting was involved? For the BMW to creep out into the intersection and the driver not even noticed, the BMW driver's mind must be deep into something else.

Good thing you are okay. I feel bad for the lady in the truck. At the very least, many months of pain and suffering all because somebody didn't care enough to concentration on the task at hand while operating a 2-ton killing machine.

As for wearing gear, if I can't do the ATGATT, I take the car. My riding season is coming to a close, and I have absolutely no problem parking my bikes for 4months straight.

Not taking that bet - its pretty much a given.

Worst part is, the lady in the truck is prolly gonna be considered at fault.

I'm glad to see i'm not the only one that does that.

I cant ride from late June through August. WAY too hot and humid.

+1.
I saw a truck do a 360 on 610 last weekend. No one was around him.

what I don't tell you is every day after driving my truck home I put the versys on a rear stand, start it up, drop it in first and go watch TV for 3 hours to keep the odometer moving.

I sign up for track days, but dont actually ride. When novice is called, hide in my truck or pretend I need to fix something.

I grind my foot pegs with a belt sander to make it look like I drag them too.

I buy used knee pucks.

Gotta look the part when I'm representing in front of starbutts

(sorry for the hijack, I thought that would be funny)

So you are the type that would buy take-off DOT-race tires that have been worn down to the cords??!! I see them advertized here occasionally and they get snatched up quick. I've always wondered who in their right mind would buy something like that? Thanks. Now I can sleep at night knowing it's not a guvmen conspiracy.

Hey... you're still underdressed... and showing skin (wrists)! Get thee to thy motoshop, and buy some gauntlets, for crying out loud.

Very true. I have a pair of gauntlets, and I was saving them for the track. Maby it is wiser to wear them on the street also.

Gut feeling win. Good to hear you made it out unharmed.

Is texting while driving illegal in Texas, or is it just deeply frowned upon?

Eventually laws will probably force car manufacturers and cell phone makers to install sensors that disable texting while a car is in drive. Until then, the statistics will just keep piling on.

Not sure, but I know its illegal to be on your phone while in a school zone. Not from personal experience but from reading the sign every time I go threw a school zone
