zero gravity windshields hold up?

MH,

Last fall I replaced the original windshield on my EX 500 with an aftermarket one from ebay. It cost $40 and I notice it has been cracking. I was very careful during the installation, but it seems it has failed. Question: are the Zero Gravity windshields better quality? I can get one for $77, and that seems reasonable.

thanks!

ZG's are good quality, $40 sounds like a knock off.

I have a zero gravity on my 500 and it feels just as solid as the oem windshield and I get less wind buffeting on my head.

I ordered a hotbodies for my bike. First one showed up broken in the ups box. Replacement was cracked withen the first week. But the RK sticker i got with my new chain added enough structural integrity to hold it together. Lol both seemed VERY thin.....

Veraiconica,

Did you get the ZG small or sport touring (larger) windshield? Yeah, the knock off was : thin plastic. It started cracking about a month ago, it is junk. I am going to order the ZG and install it. I like a clean wind screen.

I love my ZG, but it doesn't fit QUITE as well as the Puig before it. I still prefer the ZG.

Make sure the front fairing stay isn't bent either or it'll crack at the fair bolt holes. ZG is a good brand and quality. Check the local vendors and check out the blems (very minor, if any) at zgoutlet.com. If you don't see your windscreen listed, send them an email of what you want and you'll get a resPonse within the same day of price.

I got this one. I am about 5'10" if you are way taller you might need the ST version.

ZG is the way to go. Still have mine after a year of torture riding behind litre bikes on back roads.

I just replaced the cheaper off brand windscreen on my Ninja with a Puig, much sleeker, it fits better then the cheaper version.

Zero Gravity or Puig I highly recommend.

Finally got around to ordering a ZG and new well nuts. The cheap knockoff windscreen is cracking even more--lesson learned: don't buy the junk windscreens...
