Going to try my first Valve adjustment on my ninja 500 today using a walk through from ex-500.com.

Any last minute tips or warnings?

I am impressed. Does your bike run better? My bike just turned 7000 miles: next project is air cleaner. A valve job is pretty involved. Did you tune the carbs?

No difference really...except that it is louder. I also tuned the carbs but they were not too bad because I had tuned them when I did FOGs airbox mod (great mod) recently.

I did however notice to drops of something under my bike this morning though. I am hoping it is just PJ1 from lubing my cables but I am going to inspect for oil leaks today anyway.

I will say it was worth doing it myself because it only cost me about $20 for coolant and new spark plugs.

lucydad if you want to do the airbox mod I recommend using a Dremal with a elbow attachment so that you do not have to take the carbs off to remove the tamper seals on the mixture screws.
