Wear a helmet! This guy didnt.

A buddy and i were driving back from storage when i turned the corner and saw a guy laying in the road with his V-star on its side. Nobody was stopping to help him instead they were honking and swerving around. I pulled my truck up to stop traffic and had my buddy call 911. He wasnt wearing a helmet and his whole face looked like someone splashed paint on him. Blood was dripping everywhere.

The wrecker drivers showed up first and of course just stood there doing nothing. The guy was panicing and trying to walk around so we got him to settle down and started getting his bike out of the road along with all his belongings that were in his bags. He had no skin on his 4 head and one of his eyes werent working. His fingerless gloves did nothing to help him and his cool guy vest didnt save his skin. His forehead was caved in and it wasnt good.

I dont know how he lost it and he doesent know either but the fact of the matter is gear will save you. The thing that bothered me was besides us and one guy that stopped to direct traffic people were not stopping and the only help they gave us was honking because traffic wad backed up.

HCSO and EMT arrived on the scene and took him off

Without gear you could end up like this. With a helmet and jacket i THINK he would have been ok.

+1

Good job on doing the right thing by stopping and rendering aid.

A persons life could be saved by doing just this very thing.

Glad the the rider made it out alive and in one piece.

I've encountered something similar. I don't understand how people cant stop and help someone that is probably dying, how could you live with yourself that someone died cause you rendered aid. It's gruesome to see someones forehead caved in and to be in that much pain and could probably die right there. I used to be a volunteer fire fighter and was a certified Jaws of life operator so i was at the scene of a lot of accident. I have seem some things that would scar a lesser man for life.

Some people...smh. You did the right thing, brother. More people need to be considerate. Makes me wonder if most people have the mentality that because he wasn't wearing gear, he probably deserves it.

good karma for you for stopping. most people won't stop now days. that's just how degraded society has become.

PS...wear your gear. a lot of cruiser riders have the mentality that because they aren't rocketing around like crotch rocket riders that they'll be ok not wearing gear. road surface don't care who you are.

Good job for stopping and helping where you could. Had a similar incident when I was 19 or so and drove up on a motorcycle wreck in a neighborhood that just happened. The rider, an off duty sheriff, didn't make it past that day due to not having a helmet on even though it was a simple lay down accident in a neighborhood.

thanks for stopping. You did the right thing.

People are too caught up in texting, driving, checking mails and to even care anymore.

Again thanks

Good for you dude, nobody stopped in our five car pile up coming home from Supercross, th getting home was more important then my snapped wrist, totaled car and shaken family. Society is , but there still are SOME decent people out the there!

+1 for this just like the road rash queen. I know a couple of friends started wearing gear no matter the weather after seeing pictures of her, including myself.

It's good to see people who are very well considerate
