Question What percentage of your income do you spend on motorcycles?

This includes track days, street riding, accessories, gear, dirt bike related stuff, trailers, fuel, etc etc etc. Don't count the bike... Just mods, track day fees, race entry fees, tires, travels, hotels, etc.

Quick math shows me at 6.5%

Must've underestimated. And that was gross. I'd be embarrassed to say what it is after net. LOL

I would say around 8-10% net if I do a track day a month. including traveling and tires, maintenance and fees.

I'm assuming this is including sponsorship?

I'm gonna have to total mine up, never thought about it.

I'd be interested to see what the non-sponsored vs sponsored rider spends $ to $ also.

For ECR, two sprint races, I spent about $400 including fuel, hotel, tires, and registrations for my son to race and me to help out. The hotel was covered by a friend, I paid $150 for gas, we used $20 take offs. I'm not including meals since I always eat fairly well and rarely at home.

A "real" racer would probably be in the $1200 - $1500 range, just a guess.

Nothing compared to what I was spending. I have 24 tied up in the Busa. Then track stuff, fuel, and nitrous. I was spending about 1000 a month for a while

Most faster experts will go through $500+ in tires alone on Sundays.

I'm a cheap . 0-5%

I buy and sell bikes as a hobby and as a serial collector. I usually come out ok on them so that the money I put into them, I get back. That leaves tires, safety equipment, fuel, and track days. Not too expensive and MUCH cheaper than a shrink...or rehab...or a divorce....or a criminal lawyer.
