Painting the mirrors

I put some deep scratches on my stock mirrors (k5 Gsx-r 600) a while ago and finally decided to sand them down and paint them last weekend. I did a satin black with gloss clear coat, which looked kind of OEM, only more glossy. But now I'm wondering if they would look better with a white or body-colored paint.

Have you guys ever seen colored mirrors that looked good? Or would it just make my bike look like Shrek?

I'm only talking about painting the mirror "pod", not the stem that attaches it to the bike.

FWIW, I am going to paint the rest of the mirrors on my Connie14 to match body color, as well the the lower fairing and the rest of the saddlebags. I am a sucker for the "dipped in color candy" look.

Also, I think Honda did a great job styling the VFR1200F, though I have heard some folks don't seem to agree.

VERY nice work on the Mini. That front spoiler looks fresh.

Thanks for the tip. That might come in handy when I body-color match my rear tire hugger.

The blue on my bike isn't really subtle.. But maybe after matching the mirrors they'll blend more into the overall look? Either way, white is out.
