Medical Insurance?

I'm curious about how many folks ride without any kind of medical insurance whether through your job, your parents, but not including whatever coverage you get through your moto insurance.

I started carrying medical insurance right about the time I started riding. I would be if I got hurt and me or my family had to foot a huge bill.

I don't know about cheap, but I know lazy, and the lazy way, imo is http://www.ehealthinsurance.com/ Not an advertiser, but it was pretty handy, you get to select from different companies and plans based on price.

What college? UofH offers health insurance, others may too. I had it, but didn't "use" it.

I have medical insurance for me, the wife, and daughter. Having insurance has nothing to do with riding, its just smart to have it period.

I lowsided a couple of months ago and took a ride in the ambulance to the ER. I ended up with a broke collar bone and was only in the ER for 30 minutes. Total bill for the ER was $22,000 plus $1K for the ambulance ride.

Surgery to fix collar bone a week later was $1K for the doc plus another $1400 for the surgery center.

After insurance I was out $2500. No way I would ride a bike without it.

Medical and life insurance. I would feel irresponsible otherwise.
