Freecycle.org

Scootertrash's oven hunt made me think some of you may be interested in www.freecycle.org I've signed up for a couple of the forums, and every day people post looking for someone to take away unwanted stuff. All free. I've seen appliances, baby gear, swing sets, chain link fencing, paint, lumber, roofing materials, pianos, aquariums, furniture, etc offered up. It's nifty. Gotta be quick though if something good comes up. A lot of times people post their address after a garage sale and let those from the forum come and paw through and take anything they want. And for the record, I've never seen a motorcycle posted, but I did see someone give away an old jeep once. Let me know if you sign up and get something cool from it!

"The Freecycle Network is made up of many individual groups across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer. Membership is free."
