Rode my 250R to work for the first time today (35 miles to Alvin). I felt like 250R handled the commute just fine.

Hate the helmet hair though.

Yea, last summer was brutal. My practice is however: i am ATGATT, so i have pants, under layers and etc.. and carry my work clothes with me. When it was in the 20's this year, i had thermal layers but in the summer i change out to an under armor sweat underlayer and change in my office. 10 mins suit up each time.

There's a pretty informative thread on this somewhere around here.

I just got my tail bag in today... hopefully my back will be a little cooler this summer.

j/k. I miss my RX-7s.

LMAO....apex seals only get eaten by turbo rotaries. By the time the 3mm apex seals wear out on a 12a, the housings, rotor bearings, are long gone. Plus, the 12a leaks so much oil you don't drive very far anyway.

When the other driver has a passanger, it is easy for them to say one thing when another happened. Then its their word against yours.

If I have a video, I can prove (for example) yes I did stop at that stop sign, yes the other driver did come into my lane etc...

the first thing I did notice was how folks behavior changes when they notice the camera.

I like it so much I got a second one for a rear facing view.

Even the that rear ended me lied and said "I swerved into her lane" when in fact I was at a complete stop, waiting in line to a parking garage for tens of seconds before the stupid hit me.

Plus, it captures the license plate and possibly even the face of the driver in case of a hit and run..how many of those do we read about here???

It's also amusing to video people like city workers, who upon noticing the camera always seem to remember they are supposed to be doing something

I ride to work for those reasons (i.e. gas, tolls, etc.), but when weather reports states 30% chance of rain or higher... It's the car! And the heat is starting to creep up... so I would prefer not to be baked by the Houston sun and my K6 GSXR-600 in traffic...

It has been a long time since anyone used the 12a engine... I didn't read the thread to see what year RX-7 you were talking about but I think all the FCs and FDs used the 13B... along with the RX-8... sorta...

How is everyone's commute going?

I've still been riding almost every day I work.... The ole giggy has been getting 36.5 mpg....Been zipping right through the I45 south madness in the afternoons...

I've been noticing a lot of bikes when I'm riding/to from work, even when I'm heading in at 4 am, I see other sportbike commuters...

I hope everyone is surviving out in the trenches...

Yep. Still everyday for me. I think almost everymorning there's an idiot veering off into my lane, so I rev my engine to say hey look someones over here. I litterally see them jump like they just woke up. And I don't mean like just woke up before they got in the car.

I had to finally give my "commuter" a bath. I only ride it in good weather but, 200 miles a week still gets it dirty quick..

fe33dda7

Got 37.8 mpg on my last tank. 95% freeway, I still didn't think a 1000 would get THAT good of mileage. Riding to work ended up saving me $170 this month. Now I can blow that on 3 tanks of gas in my old Vette in a weekend...lol

Definitely enjoying riding to work, it's faster, better through traffic, better parking (covered), more mpg and way more fun.

yeah.

After a recent spill I fixed my bike and am back out there.

On my commute home I saw a BMW z4 pulled over on 59 with a driver struggling to put his roof up. Was seriously such a light drizzle that I couldn't tell whether sand was hitting my visor or water, I could only hear it.

I guess he doesn't know that driving at speeds above 35mph will keep him dry. Yeah that was funny and I gave him a honk.

I love seeing so many riders this season.
