so do stickers add extra capacity to a fire extinguisher like they add extra hp to a bike?

To be honest, if i have to use a fire extinguisher, I'm not gonna be concerned about the refilling vs cost of replacement. If it didn't put out the fire, I'm using that type/size again. If it put out the fire, I'll be happy enough to buy another one... it must've saved me some moola.

With that said, I really need to get something for my pickup. There's been enough re-wiring/re-routing/re-plumbing that it would be a good idea.

then wouldn't it be better to use one that is proven to work instead of waiting till something catches fire just to find out it doesn't work?

Yeah... that dude showing up with the extinguisher... I almost applauded him for having it. I got lectured when I worked for BHI about my fire extinguisher not being taken out of the box and mounted in an accessible location. I laughed it off at the time... kinda understand now.

Coming from the rock crawling scene, you don't buy the cheap extinguishers. When you watch your $30K-$50K burn to the ground because your cheap P.O.S. extinguisher didn't do . You will wonder why you tried to pinch a penny there, just not worth it.
