Lots of freeway travel. Anything low speed will be spirited. These tires seemed to scrub a lot of rubber without giving much feedback.

I had a lot of confidence in the wet though.
I switched over to the Pirelli Speed Demons on mine and I am very pleased...

front tires last a lot longer and if it still has tread and no dry rot i dont see the point in replacing it.

Speaking of replacing tires I need to get my front rim off and run it up to Motorcycles Unlimited soon.

When To Change Tires?
I'd cry if I only got 3K miles out of my tire. Holy , you must be wailing on that 954.

Not really interested in Pirellis. They don't last long enough.

I may hit you up tomorrow, depending on the price at the shop for install/balance.

Pilot Powers don't come in OEM size for my bike so they're a no.
BT-45's seem rather tempting with the dual compound tread.
Avon AV45/46 radials are said to have better durability and wet performance than BT45's.
Pilot Actives seem to be a good alternative to BT45's.

Anybody got any further recommendations or reviews?
I'm going tomorrow to get new tires.

Yeah, I guess we are. We're also some lucky fools. I had just returned from a ride when I noticed that "shiny wear indicator". Like a pilot friend told me - got to do a pre-flight.

I just got 25k out of my front tire when it hit the wear bars. Rear lasted about 15k. These are on a HD though.

My problem usually occurs when I am out of town on a long trip..

Check it in the morning and say "yeah, theres a few hundred miles left on this one"

Then a hundred miles later I see that darn silver stripe..

At least the sides are used up almost as much so I don't feel so bad about killing off the center..
