Arrow The king is dead, long live the king....

I guess I have to accept that Rossi is no longer king of the motoGP domain although imo he'll always be the GOAT.

12th in qualifying at Qatar, the last of the full factory bikes with only the all new CRT bikes behing him and his teamate Hayden in 5th!!!

How did it go so wrong for the Greatest Of All Time??
World Championships in 125, 250, 500, 990 and 800's with the hugely respected engineering skills of Jerry Burgess at his side yet unable to make the Ducati work in a way that only Stoner before him has managed.

Is it the bike or with a small fortune in the bank, a few nasty injuries in recent years and father time ticking by, the motivation has gone???

Watching him in qualifying today he looked a shadow of his former self and once again appeared tentative and at sea.
Compare to Stoner, Lorenzo and Crutchlow who looked right on it..............

So sad

and so the crown is passed, Stoner or Lorenzo, take you pick

Stoner and Lorenzo are the next in line...maybe they'll be the next biaggi/rossi without the hatred.

Age, wear and tear on the body and watching Simoncelli die have all taken a toll.

He's painted himself into a corner while chasing a feeling. I think Nicky has shown the bike is much improved. I think once the racing gets started, Rossi will start to find the inner drive to just ride the thing instead of chasing settings/his tail.

If not, he's pretty good in a Rally Car.

Having won everything in sight (several times), having a mountain of cash in the bank, already being so famous you can't go outside anywhere in Europe (or many countries worldwide), having been busted up more times than you can count and knowing that your front tire may very well have killed one of your friends, it's no surprise if the edge is a little blunted.

On the other hand, once the racing gets going for real, the juices may flow once again and he may show us how wrong we are.

Agree with Patrick. Plus I don't think Ducati suits him very well. GP race was kinda boring today, IMO.

It's strange. I used to go to the races and I had my favorites. I sort of still do. Edwards, Spies, or Hayden giving others an whooping would make me grin.

I've gotten to the point that I just flat out enjoy the skill level I'm watching. These guys are doing things on a bike we can't even imagine doing ourselves. It's a pleasure to watch.

All that said. Don't give up on Rossi, he's not quite done yet.

The pass in Moto 2? Sorry, that's racing. Somebody needs to put their big girl panties on. I only say that for the wussy slap on the arm after the race. If it was a real problem, man up and give a solid hit, otherwise; STFU and kick his next race.
