Thank you officer

Was on the way back from Austin in my cager, was stopped by a Smithville officer who was very polite, professional, AND only gave me a warning for allegedly speeding.

You were inside a driver and the cop only gave you a warning... id imagine he was a tad overwhelmed.

Yes, I was very polite. Since there were two of us cresting the hill at the same time, I did ask him how he knew it was I that was speeding and not the other driver (who is long gone by now). His response was that I was accelerating. I said no I was not, but that the other driver decelerated so quickly that it appeared I was accelerating. Since he was using radar, and had his back to us, there was no way he could tell which car set off his alarm. That may have planted enough doubt that I would fight it, and possibly win, so maybe that's why he only wrote me a warning - or he was just being nice.

I'd be willing to bet it raised enough question in his mind that that's why he decided not to ticket...I've talked my way out of more than one ticket citing that there were two cars right next to each other
