Inbound U.S. 290 blocked by motorcycle accident at Fairbanks N. Houston

Hope is not a repost and sorry for the bad news.

A lady co-worker saw the accidents scene, the bike was pinned under the car.

Unfortunately the article listed the wreck as a fatality accident.

I ride that stretch all the time. 290 is anytime of day. All that construction has just made it worse.

RIP Rider!

I come in from BW8 and exist at Fairbanks N. Houston every morning. I rode past there around 7:45am this morning and didn't see anything.

Man, what is with this stretch of 290? Several wrecks in the past few months already.

I'm pretty sure a lot is related about the construction going on there. TXDOT don't gives a about Motorcycles, they focus more on cars.

poor decision making while riding....user error. Poor judgement....really, I know a bunch of riders that pass this stretch daily with zero problems.

i hate to rain on your parade....but there is zero construction happening at 290 and Fairbanks.....in fact, construction doesn't begin until you're east of Antoine....maybe even 43rd if memory serves me correct. How about we pay attention while riding instead of making excuses? I know...thinking logically....silly me.

RIP to the rider.

I saw the back up when I was ridding in this morning. RIP.

Traffic was extra nasty this morning for some reason, not just because of this either.

There was also a light wreck at the us 59 north & Newcastle exit this morning.
Looks like a rider on a blue Harley Heritage had a vehicle come over on him .
The guy seemed okay , just shaken .
There was some damage to his Harley , but it looked repairable hopefully.
Hope the rest of us all have a safe rding season .

Fridays usually has less traffic, so I would sometimes park the Connie 14 and ride the priller on Fridays. The day before or after a long weekend usually has even lighter commuter traffic, since a lot of people take vacation days to bracket the weekend. Not so today. Glad I stuck with the commuter bike.

Yes, there is no construction on 290 between BW8 and at least 1/2 way down to 610. Most of the commuters - 4wheel or 2 - are fairly well behaved. Most times, the traffic is thick enough there isn't a whole lot of room to pull schenanigans anyhow.

Ride safe.

Saw this too, took an early lunch break and noticed he pulled the bike over into the Philips gas station. Guy was definitely shaken and it looked like he had a passenger too. It certainly wasn't as bad as it could have been.

I'm around this area too; For the past few months, we had 2 motorcycle fatalities by this 290-West at-fairbanks-n-houston. I'm riding n driving more cautiously now.

Let's ride!

And +1 to HOV inbound and outbound! It may not save time but it can save your hide

Ug, yea i was the 2nd car behind the accident and the rider was driving in-between traffic going about 10mph faster than the speed of the other drivers - the accident happened on the other side of the wrecker that was blocking my line of sight but i saw the rider come to a stop in the center lane. In a car it would have been a bumber repair but on a motorcycle it appears to have been much more. I feel for his family over the holidays and i also feel sorry for the poor lady that was involved - her life is changed forever
