339 mi in 7yrs..........prob. 2nd owner

you can't get to know how "great" a bike is in miles esp. after yrs and yrs of having it.

i can seen a collector bike like a Duc M900, but Bimptas and ducs and aprilias depreciate like all other bikes.

I guess it depends on how many bikes you own and how much time you have to ride them. I have a few bikes that are a couple of years old that only have a couple of thousand miles. If it's not yours wgaf?

when you have mulitiple bikes, some are not going to ridden as much as others, some are special use bikes...
I have a harley road king i only a few times a year... it gets very few miles put on it. i usually only ride it when the wife is going with me and we are going to be on the highway... when I am by myself and am going to be off road it would be of no use... when I am by myself and want to do some twisties,, again not the bike of choice... but when the wife wants to go and have room and be comfortable, it is the one we take... special purpose...yes... useless... no.

Or...You have a nice ride and you only ride it on track days, beating the out of it once a year = 50 miles * 7 years = 350 hard miles(ish) and you probably get to know it very well.....Maybe you take two or three bikes to the track with you and ride them all....

Is it poser points if they pass you on the outside and wave at you?

If I could afford to have 5 high end bikes in my garage I would. I would never have the time to put miles on all of them. Some of them would probably only get taken out a couple times a year, but for some reason or another it would make me happy every time I open the garage door to just see them sitting there. Some people got it like that. Everyone has a few fishing poles they have used once in 5 years sitting in their garage. To people with the money they are just like the pole collecting dust in the corner. Somewhere there is a die hard fisherman who always worries about what other people are doing and he is scratching his head trying to figure why everyone has poles they never use.

im quite certain ed isnt referring to the people who have mutliple bikes. hes talking about the ones who have only the one bike but never ride it, even after years of owning it. it was just a simple question of "is it worth it".

Most bikes I've owned at the same time was 3...street, track, fiddy...each had its own specific use, and all got ridden as much as possible...i couldn't imagine having the extra coin to have much more than that

...it does create an illusion in regards to dependability. Does anyone hesitate at a car with 40k on it? Yet look how many people react with a bike that has 40k on it... When I was trying to work with the ins on the settlement on the FZ6, the agent choked a tad when i mentioned the mileage...

Maybe the guys spend all their time on biker forums...and don't ride at all...Maybe trailer their bikes around to PP.

Disclaimer: I do not intended to insult posers,and/or instigate anyone that has no bike, but spends all his time posting on motorcycle forums.

right, I spend all my work time on bike forums, my free time is w/ the kids,

hence why my bike time is commuting.

but then i've been to 'the gap' like in your pic.

I average 15k miles a year, I spread that among 2 bikes and a car.
