What I really need is some elbow sliders... I have a bad habit of hooking my elbow over the top of my knee and it's only a matter of time....

I think just regular knee guards might be good.

Hate to say, but odds are you are nowhere near as close to "draggin' knee" as you think you are.... have someone follow close behind with a camera and it will be eye opening.

At least with something under your jeans, if you do happen to touch down, it will just tear your pants and not your knee caps.
This is what I was thinking...

If you're concerned about dragging a knee while on the street, perhaps you should reevaluate your riding style and consider self preservation first. Not only will you find the limits of traction quickly, there are entirely too many hazards on public roads to gamble your health and life with, not to mention the high probability of an hour long wait on EMS if you happen to exceed those limits of traction or encounter poor road conditions or hazards while out in the sticks.

The track is by far the safest environment to explore your limits, as well as the bikes. We have EMS on standby, and you will not face any of the dangers you will find on public roads. The track will teach you how to handle yourself and your bike in the case you find yourself in a panic situation and you'll got lots of personal instruction.

I'm not blasting you, just suggesting that you consider other venues to explore your " out" riding style. If you're interested, give me a shout. I'll be more than happy to make you a sweet deal on your 1st event.

Couldn't have said it any better. That said A* knee/shingaurds stay put pretty well when tucked into boots but only hold up to touching down a few times before wearing all the way through. I would highly recommend hitting the track instead though.

knee's can get real F'd up real quick if you find yourself in an emergency situation, i have considered knee/shin guards too. but only for protection in a fall. i have hat knee injuries in the past and i'm not trying to add further injury.

Anyone who rides should invest the $20 on knee guards.

I've lost track of how many minor spills I've seen or read about where someone had a hole or major cuts to their knees and nothing else... they could have rode on if they only had some knee guards.

Ask anyone who has had knee damage how long it takes to recover.
