I could have gone with you and we could have driven my truck but oh well. Live and learn to ask sometimes. But I would have flown down and rented a Uhaul truck to drive it back in.

I just thought that it was X-Mas weekend, and people usually celebrate it with their families, who would wanna go with me on a 2000 + mile trip? That was my thinking..

Thanks for offering bud - but i think you should spend it with your wife rather then me..

*Definitely pull over and take a break when you start getting tired.
*Make sure you have enough funds with you to cover an emergency.
*Make sure you have a cell phone and a car charger.
*Take a cooler with drinks/snacks.

g/l on your trip

Moe, you have my number. Call me anytime you like. When are you leaving? We'll be on the road tomorrow and Monday too, but ours is only a 3 1/2 hr trip.

I have done several 16 - 20 hour trips. Best advice:

1) Take a quick break every 2 hours. Get out, stretch your legs, do some jumping jacks, get your blood flowing, deep breaths in and out.
2) Keep windows down a bit. Fresh air keeps you fresh.
3) If you do get tired, take an hour nap somewhere. Then do some jumping jacks again to get fit after the nap.
4) Vary your music. If you like to sing along to music, try to use kind that the most.
5) Sounds bad, but talk to people on the phone! On my 3 1/2 hr trips to my mom, I talk to people all the time. It makes an hour fly by.

Again, you have my number, call any time you like. It would be cool if Brian can come with you. Having someone along is always the very best option.

Drive safe! (We do except a full 'ride' report with pics :icon_bigg ).

i took the same trip 2 yrs ago, but not by myself. I drove most of the way, but 2 hours from getting to the destination, i started nodding off, so i got my wife to drive. and actually, my sister took the drive there this past tuesday. i've also driven to las vegas from here, with my friend, drove most of the time too. most important thing, if you feel yourself nodding off, pull over as soon as you can. don't think to yourself, "just a lil bit longer..."

good luck and merry xmas!

I just brought my bike out here from phoenix. I towed it in a 10' enclosed uhaul on the back of my 300ZX(haha), 20hours non-stop from door to door. It sucked but It was a 5 speed and had a killer system. I drove it at night too, avoided all the skeezers.

thanks for wishing me good luck..you guys made me feel like i had a whole fricken big family with me the whole time..thanks for the calls and text messages..

way too tired to post much right now..

look for a ride report by me or "Sparky" - (Squeaky/Rebecca), who at the last minute decided to take off from work and come with me for the ride!
