Those are unsafe.

Despite the helmet situation.

Hate to hear about something like this.

I was just bustin' his last week for flying around with no helmet. please try and keep it respectful as I'm not sure of details...car clipped him, he crashed, and was hit by an 18 wheeler is what I've heard.

Beans right, but in the end the kid just left his mother with no one.

ride safe folks.

This is weighin' on mind pretty heavy..... I failed to mention he has a young (maybe 2 yr old) daughter as well. I feel for his kids, g/f and mother at this point.

hard to hear...not sure gear would have helped if he was hit by an 18 wheeler

have also heard a lot of opinions of the can ams not being the safest things in the world

Having very little protection against the hazard of flying through the air or streets is bad enough as it is.

Motorcycle's small footprint allows it to get out of pretty much any situation that presents itself. Can-Am's just don't have that.
Of course there will always be freak accidents.

And just doesn't seem to turn very well, especially if you don't know to put your weight on the inside of the seat while turning. Which given the customer these appeal to, most of these riders don't know to do that and may get thrown off somehow.

he was a new rider...I'd hear him stall it backing it down the drive and when he'd pull away sometimes. The kid loved it though....always cleaning it, just added those "audi" style lights all the way around the seat... I never like threads like this, especially when it's someone I know. I'm really beating myself up, what could I have done different? What influence could I have had on him if still had a street bike to ride with him? doesn't matter now though, he's gone.

ride safe folks.
